A young adult male has been arrested and is facing charges for a number of unprovoked assaults.

On March 1, 2023, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Fort Street and Graham Avenue for the report of multiple persons that had been assaulted.
 
Central District General Patrol, with Community Support and Foot Patrol Units officers, attended and identified four adult male victims aged 19 to 23. All but one victim sustained minor injuries to the upper body and did not require medical attention.

The 20-year-old victim, who was rendered unconscious and lost a tooth due to the assault,  was conveyed to the hospital and received medical treatment for his injuries. The adult male suspect fled on foot before police arrived.
 
Foot Patrol officers followed the suspect to Main Street and St. Mary Avenue and safely placed him under arrest without incident.
 
Through their investigation, officers determined the suspect randomly approached the victims and physically attacked them without provocation. The suspect and victims were not previously known to one another.
 
A 22-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
 
- Assault x 3
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm
 
He was released on an undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
