Winnipeg, and much of southern Manitoba, will get to enjoy some more summer-like weather, if only for a short time.

A ridge of high-pressure is bringing some warmer weather with it today and lots of sunshine. By tomorrow we should see above normal temperatures according to CMOS accredited weathercaster, Chris Sumner.

However, the nice weather isn't meant to last long. "That ridge of high-pressure will only stick around for today and tomorrow, before the next low-pressure system impacts southern Manitoba."

There will be some sunshine throughout the rest of the week, but we can expect temperatures to be 4 to 5 degrees below average for much of the week.

As for the upcoming long weekend, and Canada Day celebrations, right now it looks like the cool and we weather may continue.

"Temperatures are slightly cooler than they should be," Sumner says for Friday and Saturday. The good news is that Sunday and Monday may see a return to warmer temperatures around 25 degrees. However, Sumner stresses "it's still a pretty far way out, so we'll have to see how things play out for the next two or three days before we have a better idea of what June 30 through July 3 looks like."
