Spring Leisure Guide activities will feature the much-anticipated resumption of aquatic lessons.

Swimming lessons have been on pause in Winnipeg for months, but now, people can take to the waters.

"Swimming lessons will begin as of Sunday, May 9," Jay Shaw, the City's Emergency Operations Centre manager says in a Monday press conference. "The lessons will have staggered start times and end times to help reduce and congestion at the entrances and exits."

Lessons, along with other activities, can be found in the spring edition of the City of Winnipeg's Leisure Guide. Registration for Winnipeg residents begins on April 20. Registration can be done by calling 311, going online, or in person at 395 Main Street during operating hours.

Pools across the city opened on Monday for public swimming, including Bonivital Pool who reopened after $2.9 million in upgrades and repairs.
