The RCMP are continuing an investigation of a motor vehicle collision that happened yesterday.

On November 17, 2022, at 6:25 am, RCMP officers from Stonewall / Headingley & our Traffic Services unit responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision which occurred in the southbound lane of the North Perimeter Highway, located approximately four kilometres south of the Highway 6 intersection.

Officers have determined that a southbound vehicle lost control and slid across the median and collided with a northbound pickup truck.

The 18-year-old female driver of the southbound vehicle, from Winnipeg, was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The 67-year-old male driver of the pickup truck, from Portage la Prairie, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening physical injuries.
 
Stonewall / Headingley RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
