She came in one day for an interview to explore the possibility of being a radio DJ and found herself hosting her first show 24 hours later.

That interview sparked a seven-year on-air career for Christy Fabbri at CHVN, and over the course of those seven years, she had plenty of amazing memories, including going into labour on the air.

Fabbri had recorded a radio commercial and reached out to then CHVN program director Terry Van Veen. After meeting with Fabbri, Van Veen offered her a job that same day, and she was hosting an evening show the next night.

It's not the big moments that stick out for Fabbri when looking back over her time at CHVN, but "the little things. Talking to listeners that would call in, and having people say 'This song came on at exactly the right moment.' That happened so many times, and sometimes I would think 'Ah, I just want to put this song on,' and somebody would call in and say, 'I was crying in my car, and this song came on.' It's not a coincidence, you know? It was totally a god thing."

Perhaps the most memorable moment for those who worked with Fabbri however came when she was nine-months pregnant.

"I was pregnant with our daughter, Grace, and I was hosting I think the mid-day show and I started having contractions."

Ever the professional, Fabbri did her best to stay on-air.

"I went to my back office and was doing some deep breathing, and Robert Wiebe said, 'Are you, ok?' I said, 'I'm fine. I'm pretty sure it's false labour."

She came back to the studio and did her best to continue talking between contractions. Finally, the manager suggested to Fabbri that it may be in her best interest to go to the hospital.

Thankfully Fabbri listened, as a few hours later she and her husband Matt welcomed their daughter Grace.

Fabbri now works as a professional voice actor, recording commercials for companies such as Google, Amazon, and Skechers.
