'Truly a miracle': Nobody injured after car comes to rest at pulpit in church sanctuary

A church in Supply, North Carolina, is praising God after nobody was seriously injured when an airborne car crashed into a church building and tore through the sanctuary, shortly before people were set to arrive for a prayer meeting.

The incident occurred on February 23, about 30 minutes before a weeknight prayer meeting was set to begin at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church.

Equipping and empowering kids ministry workers this weekend

The two-day Awesome Kidmin Conference is happening this weekend, and anyone interested in the sessions still has time to register. 

For anyone involved in kids ministry, there are two portions to the Awesome Kidmin Conference. Friday during the day is geared towards those in leadership in kids ministry and it's $60 to attend. On Friday evening and the Saturday break-out sessions, anyone who loves kids and Jesus can enjoy the conference for $60. If people want to attend both aspects, online or in-person, it's $100.

'The whole point of music is to be together': MBCI hosts first concert since COVID

Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute (MBCI) hosted their first concert with people in the audience yesterday since 2020. 

Andrew Klassen teaches concert band and jazz band at MBCI.

"We're very excited," says Klassen. "Our jazz bands and vocal jazz ensembles did a concert called An Evening of Jazz at MBCI. What's exciting is that we haven't done this concert in two years. We were in preparation to go to the Brandon Jazz Festival but it shut down."

Highway 75 will soon be protected from flooding

One segment remains before the Highway 75 flood protection project is complete.

According to a provincial spokesperson, the final element involves an extension to the south Morris dike, along with associated grading and paving. The project will be tendered and constructed this year, with a targeted completion date for the fall.

Golden West, innovation and growth through 65 years

Golden West, the largest independent radio broadcaster in Canada, started 65 years ago.

The first station, CFAM, began broadcasting at 8:01 p.m. on March 13, 1957. The radio station, operating at 1,000 watts and heard at 1290 AM, was housed in a small studio in Altona – a community of 1,800 people at the time.
