A month after his death, thousands of people attended a funeral for evangelist Reinhard Bonnke in Florida.

The memorial service was held Saturday, January 4, at Faith Assembly of God, in Orlando, Florida. Bonnke died on December 7, 2019.

Bonnke was known as the "Billy Graham of Africa" for leading mass revivals and crusades over a ministry that spanned four decades. During that time Bonnke's ministry says nearly 80 million people gave their lives to Jesus.

Religion News Service reports that over a dozen speakers took part in the three-hour service.

Pastors and ministry leaders from around the world, including many African nations, took part in the service. Other well-known pastors, including T. D. Jakes and Benny Hinn, sent taped greetings.

Bonnke preached in 51 countries of the 54 in Africa throughout his ministry. That includes a 2000 crusade in Nigeria which had over 1 million people attend.
