Christian Apologist Timothy Keller has been battling cancer and today shares an update, asking people to continue praying for him.

On a Facebook post earlier today, Keller says, "Kathy and I want to thank you for your many expressions of support, and for your faithfulness in praying for us. We have been acutely aware of those prayers, and God has heard them."

In June of this year, the pastor announced that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Yesterday he finished his sixth round of chemo. While Keller did experience side effects, he was still able to do some ministry work throughout his treatment time.

"Yesterday we also met with my oncologist to go over the scans taken on Monday to assess the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. The report is very encouraging."

Keller gives the details in his post, saying, "There has been shrinkage of the tumours and so we are continuing the chemo in order to diminish the cancer further."

The entire situation has moved the couple to seek God more than ever before.

"He is giving us more of his sensed presence, more freedom from our besetting sins, more dependence on his Word---things that we had sought for years, but only under these circumstances are we finding them."

While grateful for everyone's prayers, Keller says, "We humbly beg that you all continue your prayers for the effectiveness of the treatment and minimal side effects to accompany it."
