A Winnipeg family is remembering their nine-year-old son for his kind heart and wise words.

Isaak's words are filled with sorrow gratitude in her post, as she shares Matthew's love of school, and offers condolences to those whose lives Matthew influenced.

"I know many hearts will be hurting, and many people, especially Jordan and I, will feel lonely and lost without him; we rely so much on his wisdom and courage, to guide us," Isaak says.

Matthew's character was one of joy, kindness, and wisdom, Isaak shares.

St. Amant grieving the loss of founding Sister

Last night one of the founding members of St. Amant, a non-profit in Winnipeg that helps people with disabilities, passed away in her home.

Sister Rita Desrosiers, a member of the Grey Nuns of Manitoba, was fundamental in opening Winnipeg’s very first community residential program home in 1977.

"Her faith, deep love for all people, and her belief that we all belong are at the heart of all we do," St. Amant says in a tweet.

Renowned microbiologist who helped fight SARS, H1N1 dies

Dr. Francis Plummer was the scientific director at Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg during the spread of SARS and H1N1, as well as during the development of the Ebola vaccine.

His research, in particular on HIV, helped shape public health policy around the world.

Family spends a year serving across Canada and the U.S.A.

In early 2019, the Wiebe family of Austin, Manitoba set off on a service adventure of a lifetime.

From January to December, last year, they drove over 30,000 kilometres from Manitoba to Texas, to South Dakota, to Newfoundland, back to South Dakota, and then back to Texas. Now they are back home trying to settle into normal life.

Filmmaker Tim Mahoney says he had been searching for "almost 20 years" to find evidence of the Biblical miracle story.

Red Sea Miracle is trying to prove that Moses parted the Red Sea in Exodus. 

In an attempt to scientifically prove the event, a team is first looking at current and historical geography to find the exact location of the miracle.

Revival in Brazil: 140,000 people attend Christian gathering

Three stadiums were needed to hold the people coming together to worship Jesus and then go out into the world to spread the Gospel this past weekend.

Organizers of The Send Brazil say that 140,000 people packed into three stadiums throughout the country on Saturday. Speakers and worship groups from around the world took part in the 12-hour event, and over 2 million people watched the live streams.

Rusty the therapy dog dies day after 17th birthday

One of Winnipeg's most beloved dogs has died at the age of 17.

"Hi friends, it’s me Rusty. I’m up here in Doggie Heaven. I crossed over that famous Rainbow Bridge today (google that term just for fun)."

Rusty was well known at St. Boniface Hospital where he greeted patients and visitors while wearing a pair of glasses. Along with his owner, George Ames, Rusty volunteered over 2,000 hours of his time at the hospital brightening people's day. Rusty retired in November 2019.

Actor Chris Pratt announcing new Christian film production company

The actor known for his roles in The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jurrasic World announced on his Instagram account that he hopes to "make the world a better place" with his new project.

American Idol contestant breaks down crying, prays with judges

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry were shown praying with an American Idol contestant, asking God to make her life "brand new" after singing Lauren Daigle's "You Say" and Andra Day's "Rise Up."

"I am so grateful that God put you in front of us," Lionel Richie says to Diaz in the video.

Diaz prayed with the judges, saying "Lord, make my life brand-new. Right here, right now."

"We've been saved again," Katy Perry, a singer who got her start in Christian music, sings after Diaz finished praying.
