The Crown is urging a Winnipeg judge to sentence a former union official to 15 months in jail for fraud.
Heather Grant-Jury pleaded guilty to stealing more than $130,000 from the United Food and Commercial Workers.
Her lawyer says a conditional community sentence would be more appropriate than the proposed months of jail.
Grant-Jury says a gambling addiction drove her to steal the money.
The verdict on her sentence has not been decided. She is to be sentenced on January 30th.
