Tributes continue to pour in less than 24 hours after the death of Pastor Steve Wall, along with three others, in a plane crash.

Wall was Senior Pastor of Lebenswasser Church in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was influential in partnering with YouVersion to produce the first-ever complete Low German audio Bible.

Allen Kehler of 1Gloowen (1Faith) met Wall and just got to know him over the past year through Kehler's work with Low German-speaking Mennonites in Mexico. Wall was one of the directors of 1Glloowen.

Kehler says Wall was active in his work with 1Gloowen and describes him "as a very visionary person." Kehler says that Wall was "so passionate" about sharing the gospel of Jesus.

"I just saw a video of him on Facebook singing 'I'll Fly Away.' He was also a musician and a very well-known person." Kehler says that Wall pastored Lebenswasser alongside his father who was more so the preaching pastor. (Steve) was more the visionary leader of the church."

On social media hundreds of people have posted sharing their grief.

Andy Toribio wrote, "You did so much for my family, and I promise to help carry on your legacy." Toribio also shared on of Wall's 'Deepa' videos, and his 'Deepa' videos that explained the gospel in Low German. Those videos were also very popular.

Jealene Friesen is a cousin of Wall's. She says the news has been difficult to process and asks for people to pray for Wall's wife and children.

"Steve was an amazing husband and father and an exemplary servant leader in his community as one of the pastors of a thriving church in Mexico," Friesen says. "The impact Steve made in this world was profound and far-reaching, and so will be the void his absence leaves behind. But it is a comfort to know that as much as he loved singing and leading worship here, he’ll be having the best time worshipping with the angels up there."

Others clung to the hope of eternity that Wall preached passionately about. "People say Steve Wall died but in reality, he’s now more alive than he ever was!" Alfredo Thiessen says in a Facebook post.

Members of his church describe Wall as a welcoming and enthusiastic presence. One person wrote that Wall had just welcomed them into the church as members this past Sunday.

Eduard Giesbrecht says, "It hurts to see you go Pastor Steve Wall! Thanks for being such a good friend for me! Especially dreaming for hours about NIEET LÄWEN Kjoakj, and always willing to share your wisdom. You have been an inspiration for me to serve the Lord with passion. The Plautdietsch community will miss you a lot. I’m praying for your family and for Lebenswasser Church."
