Manitoba's police watchdog is investigating after a collision between a marked Winnipeg Police cruiser and a motorcycle Friday.

The WPS car was travelling in the area of Redwood Avenue and Powers Street around 7:30 p.m. on June 4 when it collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver was taken to hospital in stable condition. Both officers who were in the police vehicle were treated in hospital as well and released.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) has been notified of the collision and will investigate.

Police say no further information is available at this time.
