Jamie Grace is hoping a golden ticket will shoot her further into singer/songwriter stardom.

American Idol has just started taking auditions to find the next singing sensation for their 19th season. It's the same show that saw artists like Danny Gokey audition before he made it in the CCM world.

"I auditioned for American Idol," posts Christian singer Jamie Grace on Facebook, February 2, 2021.

Grace calls herself an artist, producer, and podcaster. While she has had singles make it on the radio and she toured while opening up for TobyMac a few years back, she is now trying out for American Idol.

"I had a few hits in CCM/Gospel music something like 10 years ago and many of y’all are still here to this day," says Grace on Facebook.

Listeners may remember some of her songs like 'You Lead', 'Beautiful Day', or 'Do Life Big'. In 2010, TobyMac found her songs on YouTube and signed her to his label Gotee Records for two albums. She's been on her own since.

"I’m now an indie artist producing my own music and I went on my favorite show to see what’s next," says Grace.

In 2016 it was announced by both Grace and the label that they would no longer be in partnership.

"The decision was made jointly with the girls’ management upon the shared belief that a continued partnership would not be in the best interests of either the label or the artists. The separation is amicable, and we at Gotee sincerely wish both Jamie and Morgan the very best in their future endeavors," said Gotee Records in an official statement.

Back to the present day, while Grace is a newly published author, she is trying something new in the vein of music, and auditioning to be a singing sensation on the long running show on ABC.

"Tune in this month to see if I get a golden ticket on American Idol."

While Grace has been open about her struggles with Tourette syndrome, OCD, and ADHD, it hasn't stopped her from pursuing her dreams. Grace is also a wife and mother to a 2-year-old daughter.
