A ministry says one of their community members is leaning on the strength of the Lord as he mourns the loss of his third brother.

On Friday, Union Gospel Mission shared that one of their community members, Marcel, was asking for prayers as his brother entered a comatose state. Marcel was asking for prayers of healing and salvation for his brother Billy. Despite prayers, Billy died, Marcel's third of five brothers to die tragically.

"Tragically Billy passed this weekend at age 39. Years of abuse and wrestling with the injustices of life caught up with him," UGM says in a statement. "We are trusting that the sheer might of our prayers for Billy in the last 36 hours of his life brought him, in his comatose state, to the foot of the throne of grace."

UGM says that they are hopeful he felt the Lord's compassion and mercy, being "wholly restored, forgiven and redeemed."

The ministry says the brothers had a difficult life, Billy's death leaving Marcel with questions.

"Please pray for Marcel as he deals with this latest tragic loss, and pray for Marcel as he shares his love and belief in Jesus with his one remaining sibling."

UGM says Marcel "radiates the Jesus in his life" and is trusting the Lord.

"Thank you for caring, thank you for shedding tears. We are one family and we are all of equal value."
