Update: The Winnipeg Police Service says the body of a 29-year-old Winnipegger was found in the Red River.

WPS says the deceased individual found on October 12 is Mohamed Mohiadin Ahmed, a 29-year-old man. Police say his death is being investigated as a homicide.

The Homicide Unit is asking the public for information on Mohamed’s recent whereabouts and is asking anyone with information to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Police have discovered a body in the Red River.

The body was found after it was reported to the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) on Oct. 12. Police responded to the area of Churchill Drive and Hay Street around 8:06 a.m.

Police are calling the incident suspicious.

The WPS homicide unit is investigating alongside the forensic identification section.
