With all the unknowns of the future for churches and the way people gather, one church found itself crying out to God for wisdom, and out of it, a new song was birthed.
Bomba Ng'andu is the worship leader for New City Church based out of Winnipeg and Winkler, Manitoba. For the past month, the church has been actively engaged in many prayer meetings.
"The song is called 'Know You.' It's New City's first original single," says Ng'andu. "The idea is that it's meant to be a cry out for wisdom and insight from God during this time when there's so much pain, so much confusion, and a lot of division. As a church, over the last month we've been in a place like, God we don't have any answers and we need wisdom from you."
New City Church is run by lead pastors Tony and Joanna Froese. Joanna is also featured in the music video, offering her vocals on the track.
"The original idea was birthed a few months ago by Laura Jane, the main vocalist in the song. She's one of the worship leaders at New City. Laura, Tanya, and myself basically crafted the song in one day after Laura sent a voice memo of the song over."
As of Friday, the song is officially released on YouTube, and it will be released to all streaming platforms on Monday.
"We have some really talented people and they are also passionate and authentic. My hope is that we get to do more of this and people get to experience their beautiful hearts."
