The words of For King & Country's latest single came to one of the Smallbone brothers while he "was dead asleep" and the words have now come to life in a powerful song and video.

'Love Me Like I Am' was released on Friday, and in under 24 hours the video already has over 100,000 views on YouTube alone.

"I was actually dead asleep when the phrase 'Love me Like I Am' came to mind," one of the brothers writes on the band's Instagram. They woke up, wrote the phrase down on their phone, and the next day the whole thing came together in a songwriting session when co-writer Josh Kerr added the words "'it’s amazing that you can,’ love me like I am."

"And what culminates was a beautiful story to us of the fact that we can love one another and God can love humanity with such unconditional love," the band writes.

"(It) celebrates and commemorates anyone who’s loved us just as we are and how amazing it is that God does the same," Joel Smallbone says on his own Instagram account.

The single is off their upcoming album, What Are We Waiting For? The album drops on March 11.
