A Winnipeg church is sending out a musical message of hope and love to its members while isolated from Sunday worship gatherings.

Oasis Church recently did a cover of Matt Maher's "Hold Us Together." The video was a mashup of worship team members performing in their own homes.

Pastor and Program Director at Oasis, Wes Weiss, says they wanted to let the community know that their love for one another and God would carry them through this time. He says the lyrics of the song were perfect.

"We just wanted to try and find a way to do something together but yet we're all alone in our homes. It was just something we through together in a really short amount of notice."

"It was just from the season of where everybody is at and just feeling that little bit of uncertainty, that anxiety, that unsettledness that comes with all this change. But (the song) just has great lyrics. It says, basically, love is going to hold us together no matter what the storm brings. Love for a friend or family member, and it's going to make us a shelter through that storm."

Weiss says that he finds a lot of people are lacking hope right now, and so it's a perfect time to offer hope through the love of Jesus.

Oasis currently streams three Sunday services as well as children's programming each week.
