As tributes continue to pour in for the late Charlie Daniels, country superstar Randy Travis has shared a touching personal moment between the two.

In a video posted to Travis' Instagram account, the two stars are seen backstage at the CMA Fest in Nashville in 2016. "Charlie Daniels was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known," Travis writes in the post. He says that the two and their wives became close friends over the years.

"We laughed, cried and prayed together," Travis says.

Travis suffered a stroke in 2013 which robbed him of the ability to speak without difficulty and sing.

The video shows 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' singer asking Travis if he'd like to be able to get back on stage one day. "You wanna come back, don't you?" Daniels asks. "I know you do."

Daniels then asks if he can pray for Travis and the two bow their heads and pray together.

"Charlie, thank you for everything you've done for me, your endless support of us, your unconditional love, and the sweet memories," Travis says. "It is my greatest honour to be your Country Music Hall of Fame classmate--you will live on forever as my hero… my friend. I love you."

Charlie Daniels was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. He, and Hazel, have been two of my and Mary’s dearest friends over the past years. We laughed, cried and prayed together. Not only was he a gift to us, but to the entire world. A few years ago, Charlie had a colt born on my birthday and named him after me. The memories go on and on, so I'll leave it at this — Charlie, thank you for everything you've done for me, your endless support of us, your unconditional love, and the sweet memories. It is my greatest honor to be your Country Music Hall of Fame classmate--you will live on forever as my hero… my friend. I love you. @thecharliedanielsband
