Students and residents have been sharing a video of Northlands Parkway Collegiate Principal Tammy MacDonald singing to announce the school closure on Tuesday after temperatures dipped into the -50 with wind chill values. 

"It's here, that ice cold, that white snow," MacDonald sings to music from Mark Ronson's and Bruno Mars' "UpTown Funk!"

MacDonald explains she adapted another educator's performance, Missouri Valley Community School District Superintendent Mr. Brent Hoesing.

MacDonald's video has been seen by more than 16,000 viewers and counting.

Following the success of her first video, MacDonald released another on Wednesday.
