Rush hour traffic can still get pretty bad on the weekend and these lane closures will only make it worse.

York Avenue between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street

York Ave will be completely shut down to traffic from Saturday, May 13 at 6:00 p.m. until noon on Sunday, May 14. A light fixture is being replaced at the RBC Convention Centre. Pedestrian access will be open on the north sidewalk.

Elmhurst Road between Wilkes Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue

A fairly major route from southern Winnipeg to Charleswood will be closed this weekend from 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 12 until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. Elmhurst Rd will be completely closed for CN railway crossing repair. Sidewalk access will remain open.

Marion Street between Archibald Street and Nicolas Avenue

Another major city route will be closed in both directions this weekend. Marion St is closed just east of Archibald St from Friday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 14 at 9:00 p.m. The City of Winnipeg recommends Fermor Avenue, Provencher Boulevard and Nairn Avenue as alternatives (keeping in mind that Archibald at Nairn is down to one lane for construction).

Taylor Avenue between Cambridge Street and Ash Street

The Waverly Underpass project is officially underway. There will be intermittent lane closures in both directions until October 6.

Keewatin Street between Church Avenue and Burrows Avenue

The southbound median lane on Keewatin will be closed for road work until Monday, May 15 at 12:00 a.m.
