Crews have repaired damage following an early-morning collision, that resulted in a busy stretch of road being closed during the morning rush hour.

The collision occurred at Chief Peguis Trail and Main Street, and took down signal poles at the intersection.

The WPS says that the single-car crash took place around 1:30 a.m.

The Winnipeg Traffic Management Centre says in a tweet that westbound traffic was blocked from travelling through. All westbound traffic had to detour north onto Main Street while repairs take place.

One person has been taken into custody according to the WPS. They continue to investigate.

All lanes reopened by 8 a.m.
