The Manitoba Government announced on Wednesday that the province was now moving into phase two of its reopening plan. What does that mean for your congregation?

Technically, churches were never officially prevented from gathering. But, public gatherings have been limited to 10 or fewer people, making gathering not an option for most.

On Friday, May 22, portions of phase two officially begin. With that is a change in restrictions. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin stresses that this is not a return to normal, but is another step closer.

Clean surfaces

Surfaces should be disinfected after each gathering.

Practice good hygiene

Hand washing stations or hand sanitizer should be provided. People should wash their hands frequently.

Protect yourself

If you are at higher risk you should consider staying home.

As of May 20, there have been nearly 36,000 tests completed for COVID-19. There are 23 active cases in the province, with a total of 290 confirmed cases, and 260 people recovered.
