As Lauren Daigle becomes a household name, many are worried she will forget her roots and leave Christian music. Daigle has a lot to say about the rumours and criticism.

She first began to receive major criticism for appearing on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show".

“I think that a lot in life. Like with social media, there can be moments of positivity and joy, and there can be moments of criticism and pain. And that can get really difficult," Daigle told the Christian Post (CP). She recommends focusing on the positive.

"Pressure is a real thing and I think there's times where you have to acknowledge it and then times where you just have to tell it to be quiet. 'Just be quiet. You can't control me,'” Daigle says.

Daigle struggles anxiety and insecurity that she says is driven by social media. "I'm that person that can have a million people say, 'I love you,' and then that one person says, 'but I don't.' And I'm like, 'Wait, why? What did I do?' I think that is perpetuated by social media.

"There's power of life and death in the tongue. So I think we need to celebrate the words that bring life more than the ones that don't. Stop spreading mean messages,” Daigle said to CP.

"Why would I change? It would make me inauthentic."

The singer has won two Grammys, played in sold-out shows, performed on national mainstream television and broken Billboard records yet she says the stories of the fans matter more. To her, the most important aspect of it all is the fact that people are being moved by her music around the world. However, those fans are worried that as she gathers secular fame and success, Daigle will alter her content and leave the Christian music industry.

There's no need for the concern because according to Daigle, she loves where she's come from.

She shared with CP saying, "Someone asked me, they said, 'Hey, now that you're mainstream, are you going to change your content?' I said, 'If I changed the content that would change who I was in order to meet a format and the format (audience) that is actually receiving this. Why would I change? It would make me inauthentic."

Daigle has so much more in store for fans with her upcoming World Tour that will stop in 44 cities.
