Two CFL all-stars will be playing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for another season.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are announcing that both Jackson Jeffcoat and Willie Jefferson will play with the team in the 2022 CFL season.

This will be Jeffcoat's fifth season with the Bombers after being signed in 2017. The 31-year-old defensive end from Dallas was set to become a free agent next month before being re-signed to the Bombers.

"He now has 26 sacks and 106 tackles in 52 regular-season games with the Blue Bombers and played a critical role in the team’s back-to-back championships," the Winnipeg Blue Bombers say in a statement.

Jefferson was set to become a free agent next month, but the Bombers have signed him for his third season. The defensive end received both the Most Outstanding Defensive Player and a league all-star the year he was signed with the Bombers.

"In his two years with the Bombers Jefferson has 19 sacks, three interceptions and nine forced fumbles in just 32 games. Jefferson also set a league record for defensive linemen in 2019 when he had 16 pass knockdowns."

Jefferson came to Winnipeg from the Saskatchewan Roughriders and played for Edmonton the year before. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion and four-time CFL All-Star team member.
