A local church is looking to get its people engaged in the mission of God.

The Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church (WEFC) is having a Missions Focus Weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

The church has eight of their missionaries coming in to talk with the congregation. WEFC has missionaries in Bolivia, a few local missionaries, and one family that they will be sending off to Japan in August.

There will also be a guest speaker who will be touching on Matthew 28:19, which has influenced the theme of the weekend, "Let's Go".

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." ~ Matthew 28:19 (NLT)

"Knowing about missions, that's what God is all about," said Brent Warne, Chairman for the Missions Ministry Team at WEFC. "We need to be engaged . . . we need to have that mindset to always be thinking missionally.

"How can I present the gospel with the gifts that God has given me?"

Everyone is invited to attend the three sessions. The first is Saturday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m., while the second and third are on Sunday, May 7 at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. WEFC is located at 500 Lagimodière Blvd.
