This year's CFL season is set to kick off in Winnipeg, and only Winnipeg. 

Following a $2.5 million bid, Winnipeg will tentatively host this year's CFL season.

“All three proposals – from Saskatchewan, Winnipeg and Calgary – were excellent and all three would make superb hosts,” said Randy Ambrosie, Commissioner of the CFL.

Similarly to the NHL's set up, Winnipeg will become the location of teams from across the league. The season could begin this fall.

This plan is part of the Province's $8-million Event Attraction Strategy to promote tourism in Manitoba.
