The City of Winnipeg says they are closing many of its outdoor recreation facilities.

Effective immediately, the following city-operated facilities will close:

  • playgrounds
  • skate parks
  • recreational sports fields
  • toboggan slides
  • outdoor rinks

City parks and dog parks will remain open. Distancing will be required.

The city says the closure is "ensuring the health and safety of our residents and employees."

If closures are not followed, the city says they will implement enforcement. If a resident believes they see someone not complying with current public health orders that can file a report with 311.
