Linden Christian School is serving up a spoonful of sugar with their upcoming production of Mary Poppins.

The musical will run Wednesday, May 10 to Friday, May 12.

"We have just a stellar group of people that have come on board" reported acting director and high school teacher Carri McDonald. The show will stunning sets and gorgeous costumes, all crafted on a volunteer basis.

"It has been quite hectic, but very enjoyable," McDonald explained with a smile.

"It's just a party," chuckled grade 12 student Levi Wiebe, who plays Bert the chimney sweep.

48 students are reported to be participating in this year's show.

Wiebe's favourite part of the show is his rendition of 'Let's Go Fly a Kite'. "I'm just so happy, the entire time!"

"I enjoy when we're up on the rooftop singing 'Step in Time'," revealed Jenna Allison, grade 12, who plays the role of Jane Banks.

Most importantly, the musical production provides the opportunity for students to bond and interact in a unique, extracurricular environment.

"I love the sense of community that's built between everyone. It's not like a sports team, where you have two years of people working together. That's great, but in the musical you have six years, grade 7 all the way up to grade 12, which is just fantastic." said Wiebe. "I get to hang out with some really cool kids."
