Winnipeg's first baby of 2023 born at HSC Women's Hospital

Winnipeg's first baby of 2023 was born just minutes after midnight at the Health Sciences Centre Women's Hospital.

Gurpreet Dhaliwal and Jaskiran Samra welcomed their baby girl at 12:11 a.m. on January 1, 2023, according to a Tweet from Shared Health Manitoba.

The baby girl weighed in at a healthy 6 pounds, 8 ounces.

The proud parents named their daughter, Ibadat Kaur Samra.
