While leaving work Tuesday afternoon, police say a worker was accosted and injured by an intoxicated woman.

On Tuesday afternoon, a woman was leaving her workplace in the 700 block of William Avenue. While leaving, the woman says she accosted by a woman she did not know. The suspect was intoxicated and loitering in the area at the time.

Next, the victim was struck in the face, becoming injured. Police say she did not need medical attention. While fleeing, the victim tracked down a nearby security guard and contacted the Winnipeg Police Service.

At 14:45 p.m., police say they arrived at the scene of the assault. Finding the suspect, police placed her under arrest.

The 47-year-old suspect is facing two charges: Assualt and Utter Threats. 

She has since been released with an Appearance Notice.
