The Winnipeg Humane Society is asking for gently used books and DVDs as donations.

These will be used for their fundraising sale on April 8 and 9. The deadline to drop off your donation is April 5 and you can leave them at the front reception desk at the shelter, 45 Hurst Way.

What WHS WILL accept:

  • Books of any genre in good condition
  • DVDs or blu-rays
  • Video games

What WHS WILL NOT accept:

  • VHS 
  • dictionaries, encyclopaedias, thesauruses, or textbooks
  • Magazines, manuals, or newspapers
  • Board games or puzzles
  • Books that do not belong to you such as library books
  • VCR's. DVD players, TV's, computers, or gaming systems
  • CDs, tapes, or records


As their website states, "all proceeds from the sale support thousands of animals receiving veterinarian care, behaviour support and loving homes."
