Empress Street will spend the rest of the week completely closed to traffic due to building construction.

Empress Street between Wellington Avenue and Sargent Avenue was closed Monday at noon to provide space for building construction work. North and southbound lanes have been affected by this closure.

The closure will last until Saturday, February 17.

St. James Street is the best alternate route to get around the closure. Sanford Street is just east and accessible from both Wellington and Sargent, but it's bumpy to go down.
