One person has been taken into custody after a major motor vehicle collision on Stradbrook.

Update: The collision has been cleared up and all lanes are once again open on Stradbrook east of Osborne.

The collision, reported around 2:00 p.m. Thursday by the Winnipeg Transportation Management Centre, was between a Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Cobalt. The force of the impact drove the truck into the light standard on the southeast corner of Stradbrook and Osborne. The truck also took out a decorative street light.

Winnipeg Police Service officers were on scene directing traffic while crews were preparing to install a new traffic light.

One man was put in handcuffs and detained by police officers, while another appeared to be OK after getting looked at by a fire paramedic.

The collision has closed Stradbrook east of Osborne completely.
