Winnipeg Jets fans have "overwhelmingly" chosen the name Lenny for one of the team's new security dogs. It's a name with special meaning.

In October True North Sports and Entertainment (TNSE) announced that they were adding three puppies to their security team, which already consisted of two adult dogs, and that one of them would need a name.

TNSE announced on Friday night that the third puppy's name would be Lenny. It's in honour of the Jets' most well-known and beloved fan, Len “Kroppy” Kropioski.

Kropioski was a WWII vet who lived in Kenora and drove round-trip to Winnipeg for every Jets home game. He was well-known for being shown on the jumbotron saluting the flag during the national anthem. Kropioski passed away last year at the age of 96.
