Public health officials say that they are investigating after discovering a new case of COVID-19 in Manitoba.

A male in his 30s from the Southern Health region has been identified with COVID-19. Health officials note this is the only new case of the virus detected within the province as of 9:30 AM this morning. The public is advised that this case is being investigated and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

Including this most recent case, the total number of lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Manitoba now sits at 331.

Currently, there are six active cases of COVID-19 province-wide, none of whom remain in hospital. The number of deaths due to the virus remains at seven.

An additional 734 tests were completed on Wednesday, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 73,042.
