Parts of Westman and the Parkland are being warned to have their shovels on hand and be ready for poor travel conditions on Thursday.

From Environment Canada:

A low pressure system will give heavy snow to parts of east central Saskatchewan and western Manitoba on Thursday.

Rain or freezing rain will transition to snow over eastern Saskatchewan on Thursday evening before moving into western Manitoba Thursday night.

Snowfall accumulations may be higher over the Manitoba Parklands

The heavy snow will taper off on Friday afternoon.

Strong northerly winds gusting to 60 or 70 km/h will likely create reduced visibilities in blowing snow.

Cooler, more seasonal temperatures will follow in the wake of this system.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
