The Government of Manitoba is reminding residents to continue hygiene practices in the midst of the international coronavirus outbreak.

Manitoba physicians note that people with the illness may not immediately recognize when they first develop symptoms.

The first signs of the virus will be "similar to a cold or flu."

Manitoba is asking travellers returning from anywhere in the Hubei province to avoid the public and self-isolate for 14 days.

Ten people were tested in Manitoba for the illness. All of the tests came back negative. 

Hygiene practices such as washing hands regularly and covering coughs are being encouraged by the province.
