Winnipeg police are asking for the public's assistance in solving the city's latest homicide. 

At around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, the Winnipeg Police Service was called to an apartment in the 800 block of Main Street regarding an unresponsive adult male.

Officers located the male and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

The victim has since been identified as 24-year-old Murdo Baker, originally from South Indian Lake, residing in Winnipeg. Notifications to the family have been made.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
