2022 debut singer and songwriter, Katy Nichole shares her excitement with her fans for her first time being nominated for the American Music Awards.
Before her career, Nichole sang in her church choir, wrote songs and led worship. It was not until January 26, 2022, when she released her debut single, "In Jesus Name (God of Possible)" that she instantly gained popularity. Her song was a record-breaking Billboard No. 1 hit and is the first song this decade to reach 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.
"This is unreal. What an honor to be nominated for the AMA’s," says Nichole in an Instagram post. "I am so incredibly grateful and never could’ve imagined this in my wildest dreams."
In June she made another No. 1 hit single with Big Daddy Weave, "God is in This Story," which was part of her first EP release. Nichole was then named of the Top 5 on the Billboard Emerging Artist Chart and named a YouTube "Trending Artist On The Rise."
Right now, Nichole is on tour with Jeremy Camp and will join Matthew West next month for a series of events. She will end the year on the K-LOVE Christmas Tour with Crowder, Matt Maher, and Manitoba artist Jordan St. Cyr.
Her long-term project is a full-length album with an expected release in 2023.
The 2022 American Music Awards will be aired live at the Microsoft Theatre at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00 p.m. EST / 7:00 p.m. CST on ABC. It is a fan-voted award show, voting has begun and can be done at this link.
