More than a dozen people were taken to hospital after a lightning strike during a powwow on a Manitoba First Nation.

The Prairie Mountain Health Region says in an email that a large tent blew over Friday night at the Ebb and Flow First Nation.

When people rushed to pick it up, lightning hit.

EMS assessed 25 people at the scene and 13 people were sent to Ste. Rose General Hospital with varying injuries.

All have since been released.
