The City of Winnipeg is taken preventative measures after discovering traces of mould at the Century Arena and St. Vital Arena.

Scheduled work is scheduled to be done on the two Winnipeg arenas as a precaution against the signs of mould that were discovered during inspections of City-operated arenas that have wood ceilings with reflective covering.

Regular air testing at the Century Arena and St. Vital Arena has confirmed there is no risk to public safety, however, remediation is still taking place as a preventative measure.

The work is expected to be done at the end of July, allowing for lots of time before winter recreation activities begin again.

A list of City-operated arenas is available at City of Winnipeg – Arenas.
