A community is surrounding a family with love after the tragic loss of two teens.

A vehicle being driven by a 17-year-old Sophie Goertzen, with her 15-year-old sister Acacia Goerzen in the passenger seat, was travelling near Ste. Agathe on Sunday, August 8 when it entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound semi. St. Pierre RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 305.

After losing 2 daughters, camp director speaks out

Camp directors in Southern Manitoba are asking people to pray for the family as they mourn the loss of two of their daughters. 

Duane and Sylvia Goertzen lost their daughters, 17-year-old Sophie Goertzen and 15-year-old sister Acacia Goerzen, in a tragic collision on Sunday, August 8. Sophie was driving with her sister to their older sister, Isabelle's bridal shower. They never made it there.

PRAY: Christian artist Jamie Kimmett airlifted from 'horrendous' collision

Christian singer-songwriter Jamie Kimmett is in hospital with several injuries following a collision with a semi last week.

The Scottish singer who is now based in the U.S.A. was travelling home from a concert in Arkansas when the collision occurred, a post on his Facebook page says. Kimmett was thrown from his vehicle as a result of the collision.

As the Taliban quickly sweeps back into power in Afghanistan, an Afghan-Canadian is calling on the federal government to also help Christians escape the chaos.

Smoky air shouldn't stop brilliant meteor shower

Star gazers across Manitoba can enjoy the Perseid meteor shower this week despite the recent forest fires. 

"Every year from around mid-July to late August we plow through a debris field left by a comet named Swift Tuttle. That comes around every 133 years," says Gord Tulloch, the Vice President of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Winnipeg Centre.
