Christian singer-songwriter Jamie Kimmett is in hospital with several injuries following a collision with a semi last week.

The Scottish singer who is now based in the U.S.A. was travelling home from a concert in Arkansas when the collision occurred, a post on his Facebook page says. Kimmett was thrown from his vehicle as a result of the collision.

"We praise God for this miracle and would ask that you please pray for him as he recovers at home."

Doctors treating Kimmett's injuries have called his survival "remarkable" and a "1,000 to 1" chance. Kimmett was airlifted from the scene and is currently in stable condition. There is no word on the extent of his injuries at this time.

The Scottish singer does not have medical insurance in the United States, so friends have set up a GoFundMe to help with medical costs.

"Please be assured everything raised will go towards Jamie’s recovery and ensuring he can (God willing) return to making music and ministering," the post says. "The vehicle that Jamie uses to travel to events as you see from the picture is also written off and depending on how the fundraiser goes I would love for us to get him a replacement."

Kimmett's friends have also asked for prayers saying, "Most importantly your prayers are greatly valued. Jamie’s friends, family and team all got a real fright but are relieved and amazed by the kindness of Jesus in sparing his life."
