A 19-year-old man has been charged with Manslaughter and two other men are facing charges after an assault in Poplar River, Man. last week. 

Manitoba RCMP say that they were called on May 31, 2019, at 8:45 a.m. and advised that a 24-year-old male had been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of an assault.

The man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Brendon Valiquette, of Poplar River, and charged him with Manslaughter. He was remanded into custody.

Two other males, a 28-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Poplar River, were arrested with charges of Assault pending.

The Poplar River RCMP along with the RCMP Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.

Poplar River is located on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg, about 340 KM north of Winnipeg.
