Advance voting for the Tuxedo byelection begins this weekend.

The seat was left open after former Manitoba premier Heather Stefanson stepped down from politics. Her last day was May 6.

Eligible voters can begin voting on Saturday. Two polling stations will be open including the Tuxedo Local Election Office at 3525 Roblin Blvd and the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 2255 Grant Avenue.

Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday to Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

To be eligible to vote, individuals must:
• be Canadian citizens
• be at least 18 years old on election day
• have lived in Manitoba for at least six months immediately before election day
• live in the Tuxedo electoral division

Everyone must show ID to vote, either one piece of government-issued photo ID with your current address (such as a driver's license) or two others. The voter information card can be used as one of the two pieces of ID.
