Arrests have been made in two armed robberies that occurred Friday evening.

Around 6:50 p.m. on August 16, 2019, two suspects entered a pharmacy in the 1100 block of Henderson Highway.

Both suspects were armed, one with a handgun and one with a sawed-off shotgun, and they fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A vehicle was waiting for the two, driven by a third suspect.

Around 8:55 p.m. the same evening, two suspects entered a hotel vendor in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street. They were both armed, one with a handgun and one with a sawed-off shotgun. They, too, fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Winnipeg Police Service's Major Crimes Unit has been investigating the case and over the past three days, officers from East District General Patrol and the Major Crimes Unit have arrested three adult males in connection to the two incidents.

The men are 49-, 47-, and 20-years-old, and have all been charged with several robbery and firearms-related offences. They have been remanded into custody.
