Square One World Media has chosen to use technology for God's kingdom on earth for the past 75 years and the staff is thrilled to continue doing so.

Grant Hoeppner is the Production Manager at Square One World Media.

"A typical day? I don't know if it exists," says Hoeppner. "It involves a lot of whiplash because we work on a lot of different projects, in different languages, different cultures, and different audience groups. So one time I'm talking to the Spanish team upstairs trying to figure out a TV program and the next thing I'm downstairs working with the Russian team and we're working on a kid's puppet show."

The number of projects that are produced in different languages varies as different media projects come and go. However, they offer gospel-based programs in English, Russian, Low German, Dari, Spanish, and more.

To celebrate their 75 years in media ministry, the team put together a documentary called Back to Square One.

"The documentary has been a really good project to be a part of. When you look back and realize how it got here, the projects you're working on now are a result of all these different people and teams. It's been good to look back on the big picture and see what is the purpose we had back then and what is the purpose we have right now, are we on track? I can give you a spoiler, the answer is yes."

Hoeppner has worked on the technical side of media production on an island in the Caribbean as well as in South America.

"When I came across Square One I saw the opportunity to combine the technical and the creative together. What we're trying to do is share the love of God, and the message of Jesus, and there are only 8 billion people in the world. It's very difficult to talk to everyone face to face. Media is this fantastic opportunity to multiply the communication possibilities and go where we physically cannot go."

The documentary Back to Square One will be premiered at Grant Park Theatre in Winnipeg on October 19 at 7:00 p.m. It'll also be shown in Boissevain, Steinbach, Winkler, and online. For showtimes and links to reserve tickets, click here
