Manitoba politicians are to return to the legislature today.

It's the first sitting since the provincial election three weeks ago.

Premier Brian Pallister has said a short throne speech will lay out his priorities for the abbreviated, two-week sitting.

Pallister's main focus is to get the budget, introduced in the spring, passed through a final vote before the legislature rises again October 11.

The PC party has 36 seats, while the NDP has 18, and the Liberals have three.
