We might call it Spring Break, but the weather isn't acting like it. Don't expect that to change in the near future.

Don't put the winter jackets away yet. With forecasted highs around 2°C, it appears like winter isn't quite done with Manitoba yet.

Environment Canada's Dave Carlsen says that we are stuck in a pattern of gloomy, chilly weather for the foreseeable future.

"We're a little below normal for this time of year," Carlsen says. "[But] it sure beats those really brutal temperatures we had in January."

We may get a few days above normal, but they will be few and far between. This is sad news for Manitobans, who can normally expect consistent positive temperatures around this time of the year. The average high is +5°C.

The early spring prediction from Manitoba Merv on February 2, which looked so promising at one point, seems to have been wrong.
